Go Summery Shimmery with Metallic Tattoos

APRIL 2, 2015
Can you feel summer knocking on the door? More like billowing though every crack and open window.
We can complain all we want about the heat, summer still would be our favourite season. It’s a time to work that tan and rock awesome outfits. Bye bye layered up jackets and boots (though we’d miss wearing boots).
This summer is going to be all about metallic tattoos. Agreed they’ve been around for while but the increase in the number of celebs sporting metallic tattoos has definitely got them noticed.

Everyone from Beyonce, Alesandra Ambrosio, Sarah Jessica Parker, Vanessa Hudgens to Selena Gomez has tried the trend.

And metallic tattoos are a better alternative. Besides being versatile, it also comes minus the guilt and hassles of getting permanently inked.
Choosing the right metallic tattoo is important.
It’s best to get one that suits your general choice of accessory. No one’s saying you shouldn’t experiment but it makes sense to complement your gold wedding band with golden metallic ring tattoos.

You can always mix and match things up by opting for a pack of different metallic tones. Gold, silver and bronze look lovely together, especially if you’re going minimal with clothes.

Rock them at beach and pool parties or channel the boho chick in you by pairing these with wavy hair and flowy maxis.
Metallic tattoos do get a bit dressy. Think of it as wearing too many silver or gold ornaments since it’s primarily made to replicate the feel of metallic jewellery. If you want to wear metallic tattoos to weddings and occasions that require you to go big on bling, you might want to tone down wearing jewellery a notch.
Pair up these tattoos with a gold watch. Or only wear them as rings instead of the bracelets and arm bracelets too. Minimal is good.

Metallic tattoos don’t last that long, of course that was the intention but if you want them to last a little longer than they generally do, try not to wash that area often. I know gross but a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do!
You can also take a few drops of coconut or olive oil on a cotton swab and very lightly just breeze over the tattoo. This helps reinstate the shine but be careful as too much of oil can make the tattoo soggy which will subsequently peel off.
