6 Fashion Movies Every Fashionista Should Watch

By The Fash Hub

Whether you are an aspiring model, a designer in the making or a fashionista who breathes all-things fashion, you would love our pick of fashion-centric movies.

While The Devil wears Prada would be the obvious choice, there are so many that pans the fashion spectrum in their own shade of white black and grey – loads of grey.

From correctly timed rib-tickling scenes to a peek of the bad and ugly, here’s a list of movies that anyone serious about fashion should watch.

1. Mahogany
Mahogany is a 1975 American romantic drama movie directed by Berry Gordy

2. Unzipped

Unzipped is a 1995 American documentary film, directed by Douglas Keeve. It gives you a glimpse of what goes behind the scenes in a strategically shot documentary

3. Naomi Conquers Africa

When the documentary title has the name of one of the biggest supermodels of her era, you knew it has to be a fashion studded affair. Documenting Naomi’s trip with her supermodel friends – yes even BFF Kate – this movie would make you feel at once jealous and awed both.

4. Gia

Gia is a 1998 biographical HBO film about the life of model Gia Marie Carangi starring Angelina Jolie, Faye Dunaway, Mercedes Ruehl, and Elizabeth Mitchell.

5. Marc Jacob and Louis Vuitton

If you want to know what the fashion’s leading designers do this is the movie to watch. A word of caution for designing enthusiasts this would make you feel both insubstantial and hopeful at once.

If these are the people you want to emulate, you’d love this.

6. Mujrosa

The recent Lakme Fashion Week held a screening for fashion films where Mujrosa won an award. The brilliant cinematography, short narrative and palpable creativity makes this one a winner.
